Not so much but its about 8-9 dollor.

Yahoo offers $1.99 for a domain for first year for new customers. Lucky ones know what's the trick.

I think it is for any tld, but I know it works with .com and .net.

Better not to go for unknown provider's and monthly based pricing, they normally offers the packages to get many clients at once and then your bad period begins. I even not consider godaddy very good because there support is not so active.

Sounds like a waste of time. Just go with an established one like GoDaddy.

or better yet, SimpleURL. We've been using SimpleURL for years and have never had a problem - and their support is excellent.
