Good to know about Yahoo ...gads, they seem to be jumping into everything right now, and often it seems they've jumped without really being set up to do it. If anything can damage the equity in their name, it's some of the crap they're pulling lately.

I didn't know that Yahoo was bad to register with. At least there is a list to use and the reasons for your liking particular ones or not. Customer Service is important, and there should be avaiability and not back and forth e-mails that get nothing done.

Hi,
GoDaddy is the world's largest domain name providing company. Their offered plans are ideal for small business owner. I think they are reliable . They have 24/7 customer support and have no set up fee. They offer domain name for $1.99.

I agree with reliability, but not with service, my last support ticket took about two days for a reply. While my hosting provider took only a few hours. However, I do like the $1.99 registrations.

Yes, but don't you have to purchase other things for the 1.99 deal? And, they are deffently the most reliable domain registrar around.

In order to get the $1.99 domain you have to purchase another non domain service, and if you purchase more than 1 or 2 domains they are considered bulk and you do not get the $1.99 advertised price. I have domains with them but I host elsewhere.

SimpleURL is the best for service. They aren't *much* more than GoDaddy in price, either.

I only use Godaddy, but I think it's because I trust them for notoriety. It's silly to be like that, but really that's one thing I think about - who do I know has been around a while? And, my answer is basically Godaddy. It's like only eating vanilla icecream because it's been around for a long time and you don't want to waste your time with some sort of flavor you might not like. You know you like Vanilla. You don't want to try cranberry maple because it scares you. Ugh now I want to go get a pint of Ben & Jerry's and have at it.

After reading this, I am definetly going to try with godaddy.com. Although I think that for webhosting I should get something local here in Germany... what do you guys think? I know the web is not "local" but I'm a little skeptical still with many things. Again, I'll appreciate any recomendations from experts like you!
