Can someone explain to me how this whole domain selling thing works? I have always found a bit of confusion when it comes to this. I have a domain name that I own but I don't use at the moment. But I don't know how to sell it.

Praise, there's a lot to learn, but it's all pretty simple.
Check out The Domain Ebook for a good guide to domaining. It's a very comprehensive resource. A great way to get started and sell domains.

Thanks, I will make sure I check that out because I really need to learn. I see that there is money out there to be made so why not make it.

well its not that complicated
1. State a price
2. Get buyer to pay you
3. Transfer domain from your account to his, for example in godaddy its not too hard to find the transfer domain button. and your pretty much brought through step by step there

Its more a problem of finding a buyer, I have a couple of strong keyword domains like PlaneScorpion.com and ScorpionTicket.com and there listed on sedo, moniker and afternik but no interest in any of my domains.

Getting the buyer at the right price is the problem. That is why the book is a good resource. If it was as simple as you make it sound we would all be quite wealthy.
