The longer your name, the bigger your chances of someone making a typo...or even remembering the address; you better have a very good service, to make people remember it.

Does a longer domain name equal success? Perhaps it does in this mixed up world we live in. Many famous people have long names as well like Leonardo DeCaprio and such.

Oh, great point about the possibility of a typo when the domain name is so long. I hadn't even thought of that.

This was a great link. Makes you think about the steps you should take when choosing. This would be great if you were teaching a class on domain names.

this is great thread. i found these few others which are quite interesting.
I think this ties the one in the original post of this thread: Congratulations of finding the worlds longest domain name This is based on the value of Pi: Pi to 1,000,000 places This is a free email service. try telling that you friends: AbcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzAbcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzAbcdefghijk.com - The World's Longest Alphabetical Email Address But this one has got to be the best one yet. It is the name of actual place in Wales. Dont even try pronouncing that, you might sprain your tongue. World's longest domain name, longest single word domain name, longest domain name Enjoy!

I mean, you wouldn't even know. lol. People have made some great points about long domain names. Unless it's a phrase that's easy to remember, like leonardodicaprio.com (nod to Grace), there doesn't seem to be much of an advantage in having a long name.

I would have to agree, though the idea is a novel one. Thankfully, people will leave links to these sorts of sites so they can be found. Of course, if you have good information, you should get an easy name as well that points to the domain. Just a thought.
