Can a domain be sold if it was bought by GoDaddy? For example, could I just give the buyer the username and password?

You have to ask the buyer I think. But if you have more than 1 domain, let you know the "AUTH-Code" and send it to the buyer..

yeh that's right - request the auth code and do a push or a transfer
don't send the username and pass, because all of your personal information including payment methods might be linked to the account.
