Directory Sites - Worth to list your site for potential traffic in any?
Posted by: llegent - 07-27-2006, 04:51 PM - Forum: Search Engines and Marketing - Replies (7)

Hello there! Would like to have a survey on those smaller directory sites out there :- Is it really worth the time and effort spend to submit your site(s) to them??

Really, I wonder how much traffic have your site(s) been able to get from these directory sites? Also, do they really help in improving your site's PR?Rolleyes

Possible for registrar to speculate domain price by holding it?
Posted by: llegent - 07-27-2006, 04:06 PM - Forum: Domain Discussion - Replies (2)

I just wonder lately that is there such a possibilities that a domain registrar could actually registered domains in bulk when user perform search using their tool, but didn't registered the name on the spot. So would it be such a "possibilities" that the said registrar actually register the domain and "put" it in the inventory waiting to be re-sell at higher price?

Well, in this way, the said registrar is actually driving up the price and make a large profit isn't it??

  Anyone using eurodns registration service?
Posted by: llegent - 07-27-2006, 03:46 PM - Forum: Domain Companies - Replies (2)

Hi everybody. Just want to know has anyone using the domain registration service by eurodns?? How has the experience been?? I know that during last year end it was handling the free .be registration, but the whole thing seems to be quite "messy". All the .be that I registered are either "free and available" or registered by others:mad: I don't understand how they actually handle it.

So how's your experience in them?? Their price for other TLD seems to be higher than most registrar, are they the "premium" registrar in eu countries?? How's the user interface like?

  Mooter Media??
Posted by: llegent - 07-27-2006, 03:38 PM - Forum: PPC / CPC / Affiliate Programs - Replies (11)

Hi, need some advise here. I have received a reply from this ads network :- Mooter Media. But I have not much or information about them, especially feedbacks from actual publisher point of view, which is very important in determining a company performance.

I was intending to apply for a PPC publisher acount the other day, and bump into their site, I just filled up the enquiry form and send it away. They replied and attached some questionaire and survey for me to fill up, especially about my site stats breakdown.

From their questionaire, it seems that they are having several ads type :-
1. CPC
2. Rich Media
3. Banner Ads
4. CPA

Just want to receive more information about them before I jump in. Anyone??Smile

  .mobi is arriving!!
Posted by: llegent - 07-27-2006, 03:28 PM - Forum: Domain Discussion - Replies (21)

Hey guys, .mobi will be coming to us very soon. I heard that it is backed by major mobile phone manufacturers and operators, plus Microsoft and GSM Association. If I am not wrong, the price for .mobi domain is about the same as existing domains - around $10 per year.

So what do you guys think?? Would be it hot?? Shall we start to aim fo it??Big Grin

  The joy of end users
Posted by: zach - 07-26-2006, 07:35 PM - Forum: Domain Discussion - Replies (7)

End user sales are really the heaven of domainers. If you sell to resellers, you sell below potential profit (unless the reseller badly judged the true value).

Check this out, AARS.org offer history: http://www.afternic.com/bidhist.php?id=1085721

I think that you will all agree that that is well overpriced for a reseller market. A 3 character .org (and this is a 4 character) goes for only $190 (reference: http://www.3character.com/priceguide.html).

The only gamble is whether an end user will ever come. In any case, there have been countless instances of a domain being bought right after a reseller aquired it!

Posted by: llegent - 07-26-2006, 11:21 AM - Forum: Web Hosting - Replies (17)

I often bump into host that offer "Unlimited" bandwidth! Is there really such a thing as unlimited?? Or it should be "Unmetered"?Rolleyes I understand that the philosophy behind the ideas of these 2 options are about the same, but there is always a possibility of user getting high sky bandwidth isn't it??

What do you think? Would there be some "catches" behind such "Unlimited" bandwidth plackage?Rolleyes

  Dotster $1 domain??!!
Posted by: llegent - 07-26-2006, 08:46 AM - Forum: Domain Companies - Replies (6)

GUYS!! Have you got the news :-

Quote: Dotster to Offer Domain at $1

Through its event 'Happy Hour' on 26 July 2006, the registrar will allow customers to purchase a .com, .net, or .org domain for $1 between July 27, 2006 and July 31, 2006.

The coupon system limits customers to one domain at the discounted rate. A total of 1,000 coupons will be available during the hour.

I wonder what's the catch behind this??Rolleyes Is it that the renewal fees will be reverted to "high sky" price after 1year?

Anyone had actually go for this tremendous offer previously?? I heard the Dotster have such event regularly??
