Domains with Branding Value? |

I know the rage has been for years for people to focus on the simple, short, and generic words as the highest possible domains. A lot of it is due to inert traffic they bring.
My question is why is there not more value placed on potential branding domains? It seems the entire domain marketplace is squarely focused on domains and how they do in the serps, and actual usuability and branding potential are worth virtually nothing.
For example, A23.com is a much worse domain than hotcars.com from the standpoint of user memorability and retention. You have to remember 3 things, a, 2 and 3 for the first, and only two things hot and car for the second. Since the brain can treat a word as a single object, a compound word can often be more effective than a shorter, but more complicated domain.
My speculation is this is simply because it involves way too much guessing. You could never predict someone could make google into a billion dollar business. However you would be amazed at the number of real usuable domains are still out there that don't fit the traditional criteria of the domain hunter.

Hi everyone. When it comes to domains catching, is anyone here specializes in a particular niche domain name? like speculation of niche markets or the domain?
Is catching such niche area for domain brings better return for you? rather than trying to catch any nice domain, what's the return rate for your "niche' domain?

Ok guys, we are quite aware that google is placing more "weight" on certain domians with "trust-worthy" extension like .gov, .edu . What about .org then?? I thought it was in good eye-sight in google "weighting scale" until not long ago it was sort of spammed and flooded with "specially made for google PR" site couping up and abuse the .org extention.
So is google still placing more weight in .org extention? or no longer consider it as "trust-worthy? anymore?

Hi experts, I noticed that there might be some "ways" in landing an .edu domain as individual! Yes I am surprise of this too, and still searching for more information in this area. To what I know so far, .edu is only for educational institution isn't it?? or I have been lagging, and didn't update my eyesight yet??
Is this just a rumuor or it is happening somewhere? somehow? anyone got idea?

Getting revenue for ex-blog domains? |

I am looking for some suggestions in converting the traffic for expired domains that were previously a Blog. Is there any good affiliate program or PPC that is suitable for this type of domain?
I grabbed some of these domains which previously were Blog, and were enjoying pretty good traffic volume. At the moment I do not intend to develop the domain into a website. These domains still have some google PR, but I need to act fast to capture the potential traffic before it plumps off. I am parking them at godaddy currently.
