Selling your domain portfolio as bundled package?
Posted by: llegent - 07-22-2006, 07:05 PM - Forum: Search Engines and Marketing - Replies (2)

Hi everyone. What would you apply in trying to sell away those "unpopular" domains that you happen to own ? Like those domains that you "project" to be hot but didn't materialized? Would you try to "bundled" it up together with other of your domains and tag them together as a "package" in selling them, especially near to renewal period?

  Creating nameservers
Posted by: zach - 07-22-2006, 07:01 PM - Forum: Domain Development - Replies (5)

Hi

I was wondering whether anyone knows how to create your own nameservers. I am talking about when you point a domain to a computer, you point it to a nameserver (for example, ns1.yourserver.com or ns2.yourserver.com). Hosting providers do this, for instance. Is there special software that you have to run or is this part of some kind server configuration?

Thanks

Zach

Developing your site into yet another directory?
Posted by: llegent - 07-22-2006, 07:00 PM - Forum: Domain Development - Replies (10)

Hi guys and gals. Reading from other forums, I noticed that there has been a flood of new directory sites popping up here and there, especially people would just register a domain and "plug in" directory script eg using phplinkdirectory (apparently I did that too :p).

After which, they will tend to linked several of these newly developed directories together, and wait for about few months to get some google PR. then there comes the time they will post these sites for sales for mid $xx to low $xxx .

So, has you had any experience in reaping reward applying such strategy too? Well, I am still observing, haven't really push my domain/site for sales yet:p ( the one I developed using php directory script)

  Harvesting for domains?
Posted by: triumph - 07-22-2006, 03:06 AM - Forum: Domain Discussion - Replies (6)

Is there any software out there where you could put in some names and it can find out what .tlds are taken with that word? Something that could do it in bulk. I would love to run over a lot of common .com domains and look for any .nets that are available etc.

Are there any tools like that?

  Anyone tried Yahoo Domains?
Posted by: zach - 07-21-2006, 08:55 PM - Forum: Domain Companies - Replies (45)

Hi

I was wondering whether anyone here has tried registering with Yahoo domains? They aren't really overpriced, and give the first year at yahoo for $2 or $3... this seems like a good idea if you want to test traffic for a year (unless you have to agree to renew the domain).

Has anyone ever tried yahoo domains? Is it a good deal or not? What is the Yahoo support like?

Potential Legal Issues for Typo Squats?
Posted by: llegent - 07-21-2006, 05:41 PM - Forum: Legal Discussion - Replies (16)

While researching for some nice domain with potential type-in traffic, I bumped into some typo error domains. Well, we all know that domain investors are using many way to draw traffic to their domains especially parked domain in order to earn cool nice revenue from PPC.

One of the common way is grabbing those typo errors domain names, which traffic would likely to incurred due to people typing in the wrong url address or simply not sure of the correct spelling so they'll type in what they "think" should be.

Looking at this, let's take an example :- yahooo.com (extra "h") which is a parked domain currently (not mine...but I wish is mine:p). Would it possibly invite legal dispute??

How many .be you actually registered??
Posted by: llegent - 07-21-2006, 05:26 PM - Forum: Domain Discussion - Replies (5)

Hellp there! Ok guys and gals, around last year end the .be ccTLD was opened for free registeration. I think it has since closed for free registeration after January if I remembered correctly.

So, how many names you had actually snapped?? I know that it only allow up to 10 names per each account...but well, there's always some loop holes isn't it??:p
