Besides being extremely expensive, what are the rules for getting a .tv domain? I saw a porn site with one the other day, so I suspet there are not any strict rules. However, I wanted to check and see here first.
I am not clear about that.
But i wonder why .tv domains are so expensive. There are other two letter extensions also like be .
They are not expensive like .tv i think.
Maybe since it's sort of a specialized thing, like how .edu is for educational websites, .tv may be specific to television?
That may be what the reseller are going after; making people believe that owning a .tv shows a somewhat superior website. It may be a good tactic on both end.

I can't find any special rules for .tv domains. My first thought had nothing to do with television but I guess it's the television/tv connection that's supposed to justify the cost. Wow, big cost, too.
there is not any special rule for any of the domains i think .
Even you can register any domains with .com

Well some tlds do have rules. .gov and .edu, obviously. But even .us requires you to be in the US. So different tlds do have different registration rules, just curious if there were any for .tv
Well I think that's a very good question about .tv domains. You would think it had something to do with television initially and it's very expensive.
I think one of the reasons is because they are one of the few that do porn sites with not many questions asked.
Well, it is interesting that there's no restriction.. but then again, it would probably be hard to verify all of the .tv related websites :\
