Is there any issues with celebs sueing for their name rights? Can they do that?

Celebrities sue when they want to. As far as getting a celebrity domain I personally wouldn't have enough interest in it. That subject is too cut and dried. I would do something else instead.

A few questions about this:
If I were to use a celebrity name for my domain - say, AngelinaJolie, which is obviously taken and everything, but still...
once someone clicks on it thinking it's her website, I can see getting some advertising kick-backs - but what is the content of the site going to be about?

Content could be about anything. I think it is key to make sure you do not "trick" the viewers though. I think the trickery could end up being bad, you never know the celeb might sue. I am leary of this kind of site.

I started thinking about the idea of speculating, and then wondered when someone snagged taylorhicks.com and stuff like that. Pretty fun way to day dream!

My experience is even if they get traffic it usually pays a penney a click and even if you had a super name and you got 100 clicks (which is a lot for parking names) you are only going to make $1.00 a month. Hardly worth it.
Names that pay $1.00 or more per click will make you money, not a penney a click.
Yes, develope or blog it, but to park it is a waste of time.

Is it too early to to register TomKatDivorce.com? (Whoops, I did!) Someone out there is going to be using Brangelina.com for a long time, I think.

Nice to know that you're optimistic
BTW, I have some celeb names which make mid hundreds $$$ per month. I had to develop them first though.

I want to buy some celebs domain...possibly some upcoming reality show stars. I'll develop and sell. If I like the celebrity, I'll keep it without minding the revenue.
