From few of the forums and blogs i learnt domain name to be sexy i.e memorable

even it is a 3 word domain it is to be sexy

eg as seen on tv .com

is shortness in domain name is a must ?
I've always been told to keep it under 10 words and no more than 2 syllables...
I would agree with DavidJames who says,

Quote:"I've always been told to keep it under 10 words and no more than 2 syllables..."

because if you keep it under '10 words' it is always better Big Grin

Sure, under 10 letters is ideal !

but recently a three word 16 letter domain name sold for over $100,000

Then again your example of 'as seen on tv .com' is excellent

... only thing that is a little funny is when you put the first 2 words together you could get more traffic than you wanted :o
What is the best site on the Internet for selling domain names? Is it better to auction a domain name, is that the way it's mostly done? I'm really green at this. So any advice will help.
At first you can sell your domains at certain well renowned auctions. but you have to drive domain buyers to that auction. Personally you have to mail them. You have to search for end users and drive to your domain placed for auction @ auction site. For this you have to work a lot to sell your domains at high bucks. "Many worlds" have to work hard to achieve
I agree with all comments
Good info here Smile

It boggles the mind that people would actually register these.
I think if your under 12 letters you are fine, but the shorter the better.
Definitely the shorter the better but if you absolutely have to go with a longer one then it should at least be catchy and no more than a few words. Also, those domains you linked to were hilarious Taggart.
